Background   –   Retired early from a 39 year Banking career to enable more full time painting/drawing both locally and overseas with 2 of 7 trips to the U.K. being for whole calendar years when extensive travel and painting brought quite reasonable commissions and sales.

It Began           – at an early age with wins for drawing in annual shows and a school poster comp. Then landscapes in oils late 60’s at the encouragement of Robert Lovett

Awards           – numerous awards over the years at Rotary type exhibitions over 2 States with quite reasonable sales.

Tutorships     – basically self-taught, believing the best tutor is “just doing it” however enjoyed a week painting around Castlemaine Vic in 1992 with Max Wilks; weekly still life oils 1993/4 with Gregory R.Smith and a 1 week watercolour workshop at Balmoral Castle with Sue Ford in 2001.

Memberships: Past exhibiting member of Victorian Artists Soc many years;

Mediums Practiced: Oils, Watercolour, Pastels,Graphite in which medium I conduct workshops ,mainly on subject of old buildings for which I am constantly on the lookout for subject matter (before they are destroyed). Drawing I believe is an essential prelude to good traditional painting but also a finished art form in its own right.
