2021 Spring Challenge

South Coast Pastel Society artists meet the challenge to produce a work based on the theme “Spring”

The members of South Coast Pastel Society have been busy throughout Spring. COVID lockdowns meant that the Society’s Spring exhibition had to be cancelled.  That wasn’t going to stop this group of keen artists from getting on with the activity they love – painting with pastels.  The committee set a theme of “spring” and challenged members to create and submit their work based on this theme.  There were no limitations. The artist was encouraged to choose their own subject and style.  The only guidance was “be creative”.

Well, as you can see from the examples here, the challenge was met and exceeded.  Some of these works may be on display at the society’s summer exhibition entitled “An Exploration in Mixed Media and Pastels” to be held from 21 to 30 January 2022 at the Batemans Bay Surf Club, George Bass Drive, Malua Bay.  More details of this exhibition can be found at www.southcoastpastelsociety.com.  Follow the South Coast Pastel Society on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SouthCoastPastelSocietyInc/
